The tuner is not picking up my instrument
Rig Tuner needs microphone access. If you declined the prompt, open the Settings app, find Rig Tuner, and turn Microphone on — iOS only asks once, so the app cannot ask again for you.
If the microphone is already on, play a single open string rather than strumming a chord. The tuner reads one note at a time, and a full chord gives it six pitches to choose between. Hold the phone within about a foot of the sound hole or pickup, and move away from anything running a fan.
Do I need an account to use the tuner?
No. Every one of the 22 tunings works with no account, no subscription and no trial. Nothing in Rig Tuner is behind a paywall.
Then what does connecting a RigVerse account do?
It makes the tuner remember. Connect an account and Rig Tuner stores the tuning you use for each instrument in your RigVerse collection, so picking up your baritone does not mean re-selecting Drop B every time. That is the only thing an account changes.
Which tunings are included?
Guitar: Standard, Drop D, Drop C#, Drop C, Drop B, Half Step Down, Full Step Down, Open G, Open D, Open E, Open C, Open A, DADGAD, DADAAD, All Fourths and Nashville. Bass: 4-string, 5-string and Drop D. Also Ukulele, Mandolin and Banjo in open G.
How accurate is it, and can I change the reference pitch?
Pitch is detected on your device using normalised autocorrelation, which is what professional audio software uses. It resolves well inside a cent under normal room conditions, and holds steady on low strings where simpler tuners tend to flicker.
Tap the reference pitch in the top right to tune to A = 432, 438, 440, 441 or 442 Hz.
Is my playing recorded or uploaded?
No. Audio is analysed in memory on your device to work out the pitch, and is never written to disk, stored or transmitted. The app needs the microphone for the same reason a tuning fork needs your ear.

How do I split a song into stems?
Open Studio, upload the track, and RigVerse separates it into vocals, drums, bass and other parts you can solo, mute and balance. The walkthrough is in our guide on splitting a track into stems.
What is the gear vault for?
It is an inventory of what you own — serial numbers, photos, purchase dates and current values — kept in one place so it holds up when you sell something, and when you have to make an insurance claim you hoped you never would.
I cannot sign in
Use the password reset link on the sign-in screen. If the reset email does not arrive within a few minutes, check spam, then email us and we will sort it out by hand.
Your account and your data
You can delete your RigVerse account at any time, and doing so deletes the account itself along with the gear, files and tuning preferences attached to it. Deletion is permanent — we cannot restore an account once it is gone.
Email support@ekatomi.com from the address on the account and we will action it within seven days.
