Privacy Policy
Covers rigverse.net, the RigVerse app and Rig Tuner. Last updated 18 August 2026.
The short version
We collect what an account needs to exist and what you choose to put in it. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising, and we do not embed third-party tracking or analytics SDKs in our apps. Rig Tuner listens to your instrument entirely on your device — that audio never reaches us.
Rig Tuner and your microphone
Rig Tuner needs microphone access to detect the pitch of a string. The audio is analysed in memory on your device, in real time, to produce a single number — the frequency you are playing. It is never written to disk, never recorded, and never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
You can use every tuning in Rig Tuner without an account. If you never sign in, the app sends us nothing at all.
What we collect
To create an account: an email address, a username, and a password. Passwords are stored only as a cryptographic hash — we cannot read yours, and neither can anyone who obtains the database.
If you sign in with Google: the stable account identifier Google gives us for you, so we can recognise you next time. We do not receive your Google password.
Your profile, if you fill it in: a display name, a bio, a picture, your instruments and genres, experience level, and a general location — city, state and country. We deliberately do not store street addresses.
What you put in the app: gear entries with their photos, documents and maintenance history; questions and answers; messages; audio posts; band information; and the files you upload to Studio for stem separation.
Operationally: our servers keep standard logs — IP address, timestamp and requested URL — which we use to keep the service running and to defend against abuse.
How we use it
To run the service: authenticate you, show you your gear, deliver your messages, process the tracks you submit to Studio, and send notifications you have asked for. We also use it to investigate abuse reports and to keep the platform secure.
Gear valuations are estimates generated from market data. They are provided for your own reference and are not an appraisal, an insurance determination, or financial advice.
What we do not do
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not serve advertising. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not embed third-party analytics or tracking SDKs in Rig Tuner or the RigVerse app.
Who else touches your data
Our infrastructure runs on Amazon Web Services in the United States, so your data is stored on their systems on our behalf. Beyond hosting, we share personal information only where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to investigate abuse or protect someone's safety.
Privacy defaults
Some things are private unless you choose otherwise. The total value of your gear collection is hidden by default. Your profile visibility and whether other people can message you are both settings you control.
Keeping and deleting
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, it is deleted immediately and permanently, in a single operation, along with your profile, gear entries, photos, documents, listings, questions, answers, messages, audio posts and notifications.
This cannot be undone. We do not deactivate the account and hold it for a grace period, and we keep no copy to restore it from — so please be sure before you confirm.
A conversation you took part in may still exist for the other person, but the messages you sent in it are deleted with everything else.
To delete your account, use the delete option in the app, or email support@ekatomi.com from the address on the account.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. If you are in California, the CCPA gives you these rights explicitly, along with the right not to be treated differently for exercising them — and since we do not sell personal information, there is nothing for you to opt out of. Write to support@ekatomi.com.
Children
RigVerse is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will tell you in the app. Questions go to support@ekatomi.com.
